Several recent articles have discussed the disturbing report from the Pew Center on the States that 1 in 100 adults in the United States are in prison.

The following editorial from the New York Times contains some interesting insights into the challenges faced by prison reform, while pointing to "signs that the country may finally be waking up to the fiscal and moral costs of bulging prisons."
